When visitors to the cemetery scan the QR code on a headstone, they will be presented with a PDF biography of the individual being commemorated. This biography can include a photograph, birth and death dates, information about their arrival in the Verde Valley, and stories that highlight their life and contributions to the community. For more information on our biography guidelines, please visit our Submit a Biography page.
Creating a digital QR code is simple: just right-click on a webpage and select "Create a QR Code for this page." This process is entirely free, and the QR code can be printed or engraved by us or by an engraver of your choice.
To include your ancestor's biography on VerdeValleyPioneers.com, simply send us a PDF of their biography, and we will upload and store it on our website at no charge. Once your biography PDF is online, you can attach a QR code to the headstone. You have the option to purchase our 2.5" x 2.5" metal QR code or have an engraver of your choice create a physical QR code. We can mail you the 2.5" x 2.5" QR code, or if it’s for a gravesite in the Verde Valley, we can affix it to the headstone for you.
Regardless of how you obtain a physical QR code, we encourage you to share your ancestor's story and keep their memory alive in the Verde Valley, Arizona. After the QR code has been affixed at the gravesite, please send us a photograph. If one of our volunteers affixed the QR code, they will take the photograph, and we will email it to you.
Do you live outside the Verde Valley and have an ancestor buried in a Verde Valley cemetery? Our volunteers can affix QR codes to headstones or place markers at gravesites.
Some Pioneers and Settlers in the Verde Valley have no headstone, or the headstone has deteriorated over time. For these gravesites we have an inexpensive solution to mark their grave and share their history. An acrylic plaque is engraved with their name, year of birth and death, a short bio and a QR Code for additional information about the person. This plaque is affixed to 12" x 12" x 4" concrete and placed on the gravesite. This service is only available at Verde Valley cemeteries. Contact us for more information.
You can submit your ancestor's biography through our dedicated submission page, ensuring that their legacy is preserved for future generations.
For Pioneers and Settlers of the Verde Valley, there are no costs associated with submitting and hosting a biography linked to QR codes on this website. You are welcome to make your own arrangements for engraving, or we can assist you by working with local engravers and placing the QR Code on headstones in the Verde Valley, Arizona.
